What is a Relaxing Massage?
These days there is little time for just chilling out and relaxing. Maybe you had a bad day at work, were stuck in traffic, or just worked extra hard in the yard or around the house. Whatever the reason, getting a massage can help you manage that stress and help you unwind from the day. With more time spent trying to keep up with everything we have a tendency to forget about keeping up with our health. Isn’t it time to treat yourself and alleviate the stresses of the day with a relaxing massage.
What is a Therapeutic Massage?
Therapeutic massage is the systematic manipulation of soft tissue structures of the body. As an integral part of modern healthcare, therapeutic massage is widely prescribed to prevent and alleviate pain, muscle spasm and other discomforts caused by injury or activities of daily living. Therapeutic massage reduces stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system and, as a result, increases the body’s ability to manage stress, anxiety, and illness.
Mobile Massage Services
The term “Chair Massage” describes the type of massage that is performed while the client sits fully clothed in a special chair. This unique massage chair is ergonomically designed and offers full support of the head (face forward), arms, torso and legs. For mobile massage services we bring the massage chair and therapist to your location. Call our office to discuss details!
What is Aquatic Massage?
Utilizing the warmth and buoyancy of the water to relax and mobilize the entire body, aquatic therapy sessions incorporate myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization, eastern meridian point work and breathwork. In the water the body experiences a weightlessness which allows the spine, joints and muscles to be manipulated and freed in a way unique to water. The changes that occur in the autonomic nervous system (which controls stress and relaxation responses) are greatly beneficial, especially for people with complaints of chronic pain.
This unique therapeutic intervention is highly effective in restoring sensory perception and motor control as well as increasing range of motion, reducing muscular tension and is a profoundly effective tool in managing pain.
Aquatic therapy sessions take place privately with our trained therapists in our above ground therapy pool. With low lighting, gentle music, warm water and a calming atmosphere we invite you to experience a new way of healing.
